Yep, totally astonishing what your brain and body can do if you get out of the way.
I actually did something like this- long years ago. I was up on a substantial foothill on the east side of the Sierras, in Nevada- alone. And I found fresh cougar tracks. That was exciting; but a little too much. So. I ran; and jumped; straight down the "mountain". Jumped over the 6 ft-8 ft manzanitas on the way; bounce, run, jump the next one. Never stopped. Didn't fall; or break anything; didn't even realize I was doing it, except that it was exhilarating. Crazy. And I've never told my kids about this one. REALLY don't want them trying it! Would have been so easy to break my neck. :-) Which would be my worry about these guys, too. Crazy cool. But; um, crazy.

Ahhhh... the immortality of youth, how did any of us actually survive it? :)
