I was exposed to charisma early. As a freshman in college- I managed to be in the 2nd row for a performance by Judy Collins. Besides this, which of course was Joni's (I'm hoping you don't hate Judy, as some Joni fans do...); Judy performed "My Father Always Promised Us", for the first time in public. I was madly, passionately in love with her by the end.
Thankfully, my life was not blighted. Within a day or so, I did realize this was some human phenomenon not connected to "the real thing", and I could step back, in amazement. Still amazed. Still in love with her, too, of course. :-)
