"I Kissed A Girl"... The Best Version

"I Kissed A Girl"

This was never the way I planned, not my intention.
I got so brave, a drink in hand, lost my discretion
It's not what I'm used to, just wanna try you on.
I'm curious for you, caught my attention.

I kissed a girl and I liked it,
the taste of her cherry chapstick.
I kissed a girl just to try it,
I hope my boyfriend don't mind it.
It felt so wrong,
it felt so right.
Don't mean I'm in love tonight.
I kissed a girl and I liked it (I liked it).

No, I don't even know your name, it doesn't matter.
You're my experimental game, just human nature.
It's not what good girls do, not how they should behave.
My head gets so confused, hard to obey.

I kissed a girl and I liked it,
taste of her cherry chapstick.
I kissed a girl just to try it,
I hope my boyfriend don't mind it.
It felt so wrong,
it felt so right.
Don't mean I'm in love tonight.
I kissed a girl and I liked it (I liked it).

Us girls we are so magical,
Soft skin, red lips, so kissable.
Hard to resist, so touchable.
Too good to deny it.
Ain't no big deal, it's innocent.

  1. I assume you realize the lyrics you posted are NOT what he/they sing? :-)

  2. William Fitzsimmons switched it up for his (much improved and infinitely charming) take on the original. I just published the lyrics as written.

    It's an aural silk purse!

    1. Ok, see- I read the lyrics first- so- then when the guy starts singing, I was laughing at the joke- about this guy who kissed a girl and hoped his boyfriend didn't mind. Mildly amusing in this day and age, but still- mildly amusing. I confess to being slightly disappointed when I found he'd changed the lyrics. :-) But you're right; it's a nice effort. I'll have to also confess I have only a dim recollection of ever hearing the original...

  3. You have to listen to the Katey Perry version again sometime to really appreciate how lovely this is...
